My personal experience in the industry ranges from my ownership and
eventual sale of a small hosting firm in 2006 to my long-standing tenure as a hosting customer involved with shared accounts, virtual private servers and dedicated machines. I currently earn my way in the world as a freelance writer and developer and, surprising even to me, web hosting continues to be one of the most prominent concerns in my day-to-day life. Publishers are absolutely reliant on their host, whether the content in question is a top-ranked information site or a family blog and I pride myself on being in-the-know at all times where the hosting industry is concerned.
